New sounds from C-Leb and The Kettle Black

Okay rockers…hold on tight because we are going for a ride!  And what’s a road trip without some great fucking rock n roll!  Our ride is courtesy of C-Leb and The Kettle Black and we’re going in style in their Flat Black Cadillac!!

Flat Black is C-Leb and The Kettle Black’s much anticipated follow up to their fucking killer first album The Kettle Black.  High at the top of my list of all time favorite albums I have been starving for something new from this incredibly original Seattle band.  Well, the wait is finally over and Flat Black has landed!!

Being one of the luckiest people in the world, I’ve had the opportunity to preview their latest offering and I need to tell you, if you buy even one album this year, make it this one!  Any rocker worth their stones is going to have Flat Black in their collection.  Rarely do I come across a band that I absolutely love every song they record and when I do, well, you know me…I can’t keep my fucking mouth shut!

C-Leb and the Kettle Black have been on my radar for about 2 or 3 years now.  I’ve seen a few changes to the band over the years….James Squires is now the keeper of the beat on drums and Sandy Dickerson on bass was added after The Kettle Black was released as well.  C-Leb, with his soulful and raw vocals still leads the band and my man, Jesse Strasbaugh is now even more impressive on guitar.

C-Leb and the Kettle Black builds rock and hard rock on a bluesy foundation to create a very distinctive style and sound of their own.  You hear a song and you know immediately who it is whether you’ve heard it before or not.  That being said, they don’t fall into the category of some where all their songs sound the same.  You know what I mean, we’ve all heard those bands and for me it usually results in disappointment.

There is absolutely no disappointment for me with Flat Black.  They’ve followed up The Kettle Black perfectly with fresh new songs, each of them distinctly unique.  The band has allowed me to share a song with you and my first impulse was to share Flat Black Cadillac…fast paced and full of energy!  But I’m going to go against my first impulse.  You can preview Flat Black Cadillac on their site before you buy the album and I just have to demonstrate how diverse this band really is!  So without further ado, this is Another Day….

I fucking know, right??? Now, boys and girls, run….don’t fucking walk your pretty little fingers over to their website at and buy this album!  You’ll definitely step a notch on my coolness meter when you do……. ; )
